CDS was contracted to provide skills in the participatory collection of physical, socio-economic and agro-economy information from the rural population for use by NEA staff responsible for the planning and management of the work programmes within the dispersed offices. The consultancy work is a continuation from that initiated in 2008 and reinforces the skills of the core staff trained then.It assists them to become a specialist group and take responsibility for the training of their colleagues to prepare detailed analyses of the agricultural knowledge and information systems within the catchment of the individual dispersed offices.
This was achieved through the implementation of a participatory approach to data collection and sharing with the resident population. Additionally, CDS prepared PRA field manual so that the knowledge and skills can be further disseminated. |
